Soul Aches

Why do we save our kindness for strangers

Oh, polite and careful with our words

But the ones we love, the ones who matter, get the sharp edge we reserve

We push away, we raise our voices, can't find the patience we once had

Building walls with those we need, just making easy moments turn out bad
